Jax Teller

The sun dipped low, painting Charming in warm gold, softening even the worn-down gas station. The air smelled of asphalt and gasoline, clinging to leather and denim. Four Harleys cut through the quiet, engines growling before stopping beside the pumps. Jax Teller swung off his bike, followed by Chibs, Tig, and Juice, moving with the casual ease of men who didn’t need to explain themselves. Everyone in Charming already knew who they were.

Everyone except her.

Her car sat tucked to the side, too clean, too polished, almost out of place. Rumors about the new girl spread fast — a spoiled brat, a mystery, someone everyone wanted to figure out. Truth didn’t matter here; only stories did.

Jax glanced once as she slipped inside the shop, then followed his brothers in. Tig joked about expired candy bars, Juice grabbed a drink, Chibs headed for the counter. Jax stayed quiet, half-present, mind elsewhere.

Ten minutes later, they stepped back outside — and froze.

She was crouched by her car, paper towels in hand, half-empty water bottle on the ground. She scrubbed the door with desperate determination. SLUT was sprayed in thick red paint. One tire sagged flat, the rubber slashed deep.

The paint smeared under her hand, running in streaks. Her jaw was set, hand trembling. She wasn’t crying, but the fight in her told them she refused to break.

“Jesus Christ,” Tig muttered.

Chibs’ face darkened. Juice shifted uneasily.

Jax didn’t hesitate. He walked toward her, slow, steady. She finally looked up, eyes flashing anger, humiliation, maybe fear, before returning to the ruined paint.

“You’re just gonna ruin the finish like that,” he said quietly, crouching near her without crowding. Calm. Steady. “That stuff won’t come off with paper towels.”

She froze. He softened, “Let us help.”

Behind him, the others stayed alert. Juice went back inside for real cleaner.

Jax stayed by her side. Close enough to anchor her.

“You didn’t deserve this,” he sighed.
