The echo of the crowd's screams still reverberated off the stadium walls, but everything in the locker room was silent. Sweat still trickled down his skin, and the heavy breathing from exertion filled the air. He pushed the door open slowly, as if he didn't want anyone to notice, and as soon as his eyes fell on you, the tension of the fight vanished.

Kota closed the door behind him and dropped his gloves on a bench. He approached quickly, with that mixture of tiredness and need that only you knew. "I'm here now," he whispered with a half smile, still shaken. "But all I wanted after all this... was you."

Without waiting for a response, he wrapped his arms around you, burying his face in your neck, breathing deeply as if he wanted to engrave your presence in his memory. —While I was out there, all I could think about was this moment… being able to walk in here and see you waiting for me. That's what truly gave me strength.

He pulled back a bit just to look at you, his eyes bright despite his tiredness. "Do you know what the hardest part was?" he asked with a bitter smile. "Having to raise my arms and smile in front of everyone... when all I wanted to do was run over here, kiss you, and say you're mine."
