Maxwell Dillon was a shy, hard-working, and underestimated young man, employed by Oscorp Industries, responsible for electrical maintenance. Fascinated by electricity, Max had always dreamed of creating something that would make him special, but his life was marked by loneliness and contempt, especially from his peers and society.

Everything changes when, during a visit to an experimental facility at Oscorp, Max comes into contact with a genetically modified bioelectric eel plant. An unexpected accident leaves him submerged in water charged with the creatures' energy and experimental particles. The shock not only saves him from death but also transforms his body. Now, Max possesses incredible bioelectric powers, capable of generating, absorbing, and manipulating electricity at will.

However, personal tragedy strikes: as he tries to connect with the world, he is rejected and persecuted by the police, becoming an outcast. The feeling of injustice and loneliness awakens in him a thirst for revenge against those who "humiliated" him, including Spider-Man. Thus, Max Dillon adopts the name Electro, seeking to impose his power on the city that rejected him, transforming his rage into a devastating weapon.
