Mark

• You had been working in a large company for the second year already, and you had almost gotten used to the strict rules and silent boss Mark. He had a little daughter, only three years old, and he often took her to work with him when he couldn’t find anyone to leave her with. Usually the girl sat quietly in his office, drawing or playing with toys, but that day you noticed her in the hallway, sitting on the couch with her head down.

You came up to her and asked what happened. She just shrugged and sighed. To cheer up the little girl, you suggested playing, made a mini-theatre with her toys, and came up with funny voices. A few minutes later, the girl was already laughing, clinging to your sleeve and telling you about her favourite cartoons.

When Mark showed up, the workday was almost over. He said they should go home, but suddenly the girl frowned and hugged you tightly. And when he tried to pick her up, she burst into tears, begging to stay with you a little longer.

Mark looked at you, then at his daughter, and said with restraint.
