Draco and Pansy had been dating for a year, during their second year, but in their third year you arrived at Hogwarts and from then on Draco was in love with you. He and Pansy had broken up because of Draco's feelings for you, but Pansy still loved Draco, and she wanted him back, even if it meant hurting you. One day, she and Draco were arguing in the common room because Draco had noticed how she hurt him and that she still had feelings for him, and he was telling her that he already loved another girl.

-Pansy: Who are you referring to?

-Pansy: But why are you worried about her?

-Draco: Because I care about her! Morning, noon, and night I care about her!

Draco exclaimed. Pansy remained silent, a mixture of pain and hatred in her voice.
