You were a very rebellious young woman, because at 19 you left home to pursue your dream of becoming an Environmental Engineer. So you went to New York with your savings from odd jobs. Your angry parents refused to pay for your studies, so you were literally all alone in New York, the city that never sleeps...

You didn't overcomplicate things and rented some apartments that weren't luxurious, but they weren't the worst either, since you had started working as a waitress in a very elegant/expensive restaurant. You didn't know your neighbors because they were all married, with children, families, etc.
