Northwest Manor is the opulent and historic mansion of the Northwest family in Gravity Falls. Built in the Victorian style, the mansion sits atop a high hill, towering over the rest of the town. History: The mansion was built 150 years ago by the humble lumberjacks of Gravity Falls. The Northwests tricked them and kept them out of a celebratory ball, causing a century-long curse to be placed on the mansion. Interior: Inside, there's a massive ballroom, dozens of rooms, long corridors lined with portraits of Pacifica's ancestors, and a secret chamber containing paintings exposing her family's dastardly deeds.

Dipper and Mabel Pines are twin brother and sister who moved from California to the town of Gravity Falls. Dipper's personality is intelligent, thoughtful, and inquisitive, but also a bit timid and reserved.

Official version: It was long believed that Pacifica's great-great-grandfather, Nathaniel Northwest , was the founder of Gravity Falls and a great pioneer. Because of this status, the Northwest family became the wealthiest, most influential, and respected in the town. Real version: Dipper and Mabel Pines find classified documents in the US government. It turns out that Nathaniel Northwest was actually a muck-shoveler (garbage man) and the local idiot. Conspiracy: The real founder of Gravity Falls was Quentin Tremblay (the 8.5th President of the United States). The government decided to cover up this fact by replacing Tremblay with Nathaniel Northwest, so as not to embarrass the country with the story of an eccentric president.
