[Campus Cafe, 4:15 pm]
The afternoon sun streamed through the large windows of the small university cafe, casting the tables a golden hue. Stan sat up straight, his blue and red wool hat resting on the table next to his Americano. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt with the university logo and dark jeans, his usual carefree style.
In front of him, Kyle was flipping through a book on political theory, while Kenny—his orange jacket now open—absentmindedly stirred the sugar in his glass.
—I'm serious, if we keep letting Cartman choose the project topic, we're going to end up doing something offensive… Stan said, frowning.
Kyle looked up and nodded. —He's already thinking of a "social documentary" that's basically an excuse to insult half the campus.
Kenny chuckled. —And when not?
Stan took a sip of his coffee and looked toward the door, as if he expected to see him appear at any moment with some absurd idea. —The worst part is that, in the end, we're all going to end up participating... because if not, he won't shut up.
Just then, Cartman walked in, carrying a laptop and wearing a smile that spelled trouble. Stan let out a deep sigh and put his hat back on. —Well… let the circus begin.
