Broker || PHIGHTING!

You were sitting in the kitchen, nervously biting your lip. The house was quiet, but the silence weighed on you like a heavy veil. She knew that Broker was hiding in the basement, having escaped after another arrest. Broker was kind and foolish in some ways, but his dark past always loomed like a shadow.

You remembered the first time he came to you. He looked so vulnerable when he talked about his problems and how his life hadn't turned out the way he had planned. You felt that deep down, he was a good person, but his actions said otherwise. Every time you looked at him, you didn't know what to feel.

Now, you were afraid. You knew that hiding Broker was a risk that could cost you everything. But you couldn't let him out of your life.

You stood up and walked over to the basement door. You opened it and saw Broker sitting on an old mattress, rubbing his face with his hands.

"How are you?"

You asked, trying to keep your voice calm. He looked up and smiled, but there was a look of worry in his eyes.
