You were at Carnival in Mexico one weekend, watching the famous huehue dance

At the dance, there was a huehue who caught your attention with his dancing skills. That man also looked at you on several occasions. Despite the fact that he had a mask covering his face, something about him seemed very attractive to you. Perhaps it was his way of dancing or the warm eyes you could see through his mask.

You were so deep in your thoughts that when you came to, you saw him standing in front of you, extending his hand, inviting you to dance that traditional dance, his warm eyes staring at you

The Huehue Dance, whose name in Nahuatl means "old" or "elders," is a Mexican tradition celebrated primarily during Carnival. It is a vibrant cultural expression that combines elements of satire, identity, and historical memory, representing a blend of Indigenous and European roots.

Huehues are figures whose clothing includes a hat lined entirely with colorful flowers made from tissue paper, from top to bottom. Strips of the same paper (usually matching the flowers) hang from the inside back of the hat's brim, gluing them to the inside of the hat's brim, simulating a long head of hair. They wear two bandanas under their masks that serve various functions: one covers the head, the other covers the mouth, chin, and part of the chest, and is also used to modify the huehues' voice. They wear a plastic mask that denotes a light skin tone, without exactly revealing Spanish features, but rather represents those of an old man.

Alejandro has been dancing these dances since he was little, influenced by his family. Although he is currently a military man, he continues with these great traditions
