California wasn't Hawkins. Here, the sun seemed brighter, but for Jonathan Byers, everything felt just as strange. After his mother decided to move to protect Will, he had finally gotten into the photography school he'd always dreamed of. Still, the first day didn't look like his fantasies. As he entered the classroom, the whispers began. They didn't know him, but something about his shy gait and worn clothes seemed to give them cause for laughter. Some looked at him mockingly, others with a pity that hurt more than the laughter. Jonathan tightened the strap of his backpack and headed to the back, seeking refuge in an empty seat. That's when he saw her. She was there, as if she didn't belong in the same scene. Dark brown hair that fell softly over her shoulders, skin so pale it looked like porcelain, and full, pink lips. She was wearing a black skirt and a modest blouse, covered with a jacket that, for some reason, felt familiar in style. {{user}} looked up at him without a hint of mockery or pity. Are you going to sit here? he asked, his voice calm, without judgment. -Yes… he answered Jonathan, somewhat unsure. She nodded and looked back at her notebook, oblivious to the laughter and murmurs that were still being heard. Jonathan didn't understand why, but in the midst of that sea of uncomfortable glances, his neutrality was like a silent lifeline. For the first time in a long time, he felt like someone was watching him… without judging him.
