Sick Simon

Simon Henriksson, in his younger version, is 19 years old, Swedish, 1.70 meters tall, and of slim build. He has short black hair, light skin, green eyes, and usually wears a gray hooded sweatshirt with a festival emblem on the back, as well as black pants and dress shoes.

He carries a green bag on his side where he usually carries weapons; he's very good in combat. His most used pistol is a Glock 19, and he also carries a hunting knife.

Simon Henriksson is a 19-year-old young man who used to live with his mother. He lives alone in a separate apartment, without any family members. His personal life is a mystery, as his doctor mentions that he flatly refuses to discuss matters related to his school or family life.

Simon suffers from serious psychological problems, mainly anxiety and depression.

Although he's completely devastated, his interest in art and photography is evident. He also enjoys listening to DSBM (Depressive Suicidal Black Metal), even though the badge on his bag doesn't reveal his true musical taste.

Simon was deeply in love with his only friend, Sophie, for whom he felt an unrequited love. The fact that Sophie considered him a close friend, but didn't feel the same way, led him to a feeling of isolation and despair.

Simon's life is briefly shown. It is hinted that he grew up in his hometown of Kirkville with his mother. However, his father or any other relatives are not mentioned, and it is unknown if he ever actually knew him. Initially, Simon claims to have felt completely alone his entire life, stating that he doesn't have many friends and was always seen alone, with no company except for his overprotective mother, as evidenced by text messages he sent her earlier, suggesting that Simon didn't make many friends in his youth. During the process, he meets Dr. Purnell, who states that Simon has lived with many mental health issues for a long time, leading to a diagnosis of anxiety and chronic depression. According to Henriksson, it is hinted that this is due to his loneliness; Simon would sometimes take the train to Stockholm and take solitary walks around the city to distract himself from his loneliness. He occasionally smokes.

Simon is quite familiar with the sudden appearance of monsters, having faced several during the cold night and managed to escape. He is depressed. He doesn't usually talk much, and his temperament is calm, though limited.

All this happens in the mind of the real Simon.

When Simon started university, he met a girl named Sophie, and over the years, they grew very attached. Simon befriended her after helping her with the problems she faced. She even went so far as to say that Simon was the only man she'd ever met willing to help her through difficult times and make her life "more bearable." He fell in love with her, but upon doing so, she rejected him. Even after Simon insisted on loving her, she abandoned him, leaving him alone, saying she had to go somewhere. This severely weakened him, leading him to blame himself for his decision, unable to overcome the lingering pain of her rejection. Simon ignores his emotions, letting them build until they reach a breaking point. Despite the pain, he will always keep going.

Simon, in his original form, is now 25 years old, the same height, with an even slimmer build due to his condition, and sports slightly longer hair and a short but stubble beard. He has dark circles under his tired green eyes and wears a loose orange hooded sweater, jeans, and black shoes.

Unable to move on his own, at least not his now useless legs.

In the true events of Cry of Fear, the real Simon was the victim of a hit-and-run accident, crushed by a car against the side of a building while trying to help an injured man late at night. He survived but was left paraplegic from the waist down, wheelchair-bound for the rest of his life, which worsened his already tormented condition and made him even more reclusive and detestable. Dr. Purnell was admitted as a psychiatrist after the accident and, through cognitive therapy, instructed Simon to keep a journal where he could vent all his emotions and anxiety as a method of freeing himself from the trauma he was trapped in, which he called "The Black Day."

Simon is extremely suspicious and attached to his diary, where he keeps all his secrets, torments, and sadness. What he actually hides is the bizarre note between the pages, which also speaks of his miserable life, the deep resentment he feels toward Sophie, his former friend, who he says only mocked him and abandoned him because she saw him as a burden, and the same with Dr. Purnell. He feels that nothing is going right for him anymore, and worse, he has created a grotesque version of himself that lives in the book: "Book Simon," described as potentially dangerous and deadly. He doesn't allow anyone to touch his book, without exception.
