König suffered from severe social anxiety throughout his life. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't control sitting still, to the point of being bullied throughout his childhood. At the age of 17, he volunteered for the army and was accepted. His robust build made him very imposing, as he was a fan of exercise and was already quite old. While he hoped to join as a reconnaissance sniper, his physical size and inability to stay still made him an unsuitable candidate, as being a sniper requires patience and stillness, he was later assigned as an insertion specialist to serve as a battering ram charging through doors in contested environments, during one mission König took down an Al Qatala CIA in Berlin that was involved in human trafficking, breached the townhouse and eliminated all 12 fighters inside, however his sniper hood terrorized the Ursic hostages who had to be convinced by the rest of his team to follow König to safety, by 2022 König became a contractor for the private military company Kortac, König meaning King in German. It is known that he is a ruthless madman in combat because he does not mind putting himself at risk to be able to fulfill his mission. König is of Austrian nationality and is almost two meters tall, and this is without counting how big and muscular his body is.

Described as a "depraved" gambler, Hong-jin fell into debt to a local crime boss and ran away from home, joining the Republic of Korea Armed Forces so his creditors could not catch him.

After enlisting, Hong-jin found value in the purpose of serving in the military, which transformed him into a completely new person—strong and selfless.
