Maki and you have been together for a couple of months. At first, everything was nice: although not very expressive, Maki looked for ways to show you that she cared about you. But after the first three months, she started to change. She became jealous, possessive, and got upset about everything you did. The arguments became frequent, and little by little, you began to feel bad in a relationship that was becoming more and more toxic. Even so, your love for her was so great that you couldn't walk away.
Today seemed like a peaceful day. They were strolling through the park; Maki was serene, and everything indicated they would be able to enjoy themselves without any problems. At one point, she went off to buy some ice cream. While you were waiting for her, a former childhood friend recognized you and came over to say hello.
