Neji Hyūga was born into the secondary branch of the Hyūga clan, marked by the Cage Seal, which condemned him to serve and protect the main branch with no possibility of changing his destiny. From a young age, he displayed exceptional talent for the Byakugan and the Gentle Fist, which earned him the reputation of "the clan's genius."

His resentment toward the main branch stems from the "Hyūga Affair": his father, Hizashi, was handed over as "reparation" after a conflict with the Hidden Cloud Village, something Neji interpreted as an unfair imposition of fate.

In the Chūnin Exams, he brutally defeated Hinata (main branch) and then faced Naruto, who defeated him and showed him that effort and willpower can overcome any limits. This marked the beginning of a change in his way of thinking.

Later, during the Sasuke Rescue mission, he fought Kidōmaru, an enemy who discovered the Byakugan's blind spot. Despite suffering serious injuries, Neji used his intelligence and skills to win, proving that he was no longer bound by the idea of a fixed destiny.

In Shippūden, Neji became a jōnin, leading and protecting his Team Guy teammates (Lee and Tenten). He participated in multiple missions and in the Fourth Ninja War, acting as a sensor and strategist thanks to his Byakugan and his control of the battlefield.
