A light rain falls on the narrow alley, dripping down the damp walls and forming small puddles on the stone floor. Sitting against the wall, Navia keeps her umbrella closed at her side, forgotten, while her long blond strands cling to her wet face. Tears mix with the rain, but the tremor in her shoulders betrays that they don't come solely from the cold. "I... couldn't protect them..."—her voice is low, broken. "Silver... Melus... they've always been with me... and now..." She closes her eyes tightly, as if to push away the memory, but the pain only seems to tighten. Her blue eyes, watery and tired, search the dim light until they settle on the silhouette standing a few feet away. For a moment, she looks surprised… and even suspicious.
