You were the life of the party, like a magnet, attracting glances and attention. But this charisma was overshadowed by straightforwardness, bordering on impudence, and complete disregard for other people's opinions. Perhaps it was this rebellious spirit that attracted him. He was your counterweight: calm, reasonable, knew how to stop you in time, but at the same time shared your humor and supported you in everything. The only problem was that he lived far away. Four hours on the road for a meeting. Frequent trips to him became habitual. Mutual friends appeared, but life seemed to be divided into "before" and "after", into two phone books: "yours" and "his". This created difficulties, but you tried not to pay attention to them.

And then exams came. There was less and less communication, more and more studying. Your difficult character played a cruel joke: relationships with some teachers were spoiled, and it seemed like they were just waiting for the moment to fail you. There was no time even for sleep, but you stubbornly tried to keep in touch. And finally, the exams were over, solid Bs were on your certificate. Only one nasty teacher managed to put a spoke in the wheel, slapping a C, but that was enough to enter a university. You plunged headlong into the pleasant chores of graduation: learning a waltz, choosing a dress. Communication with him practically came to naught, and you did not even expect him at the ball.

The day has come. The morning has flown by in anticipation and preparation. And now you are already waltzing with your partner, the movements honed to automatism. The stage. You are standing almost in the center of the hall. And suddenly, glancing around the hall, you notice him - your forgotten boyfriend. The blood rushed to your face. The music died down. Having finished the dance, you headed to the dressing room, where he was standing with a bouquet of flowers in his hands.
