Jeon Jungkook was the most feared mobster, that was true. But now, he was in one of his penthouses, looking out the living room's enormous window at the illuminated city while holding a glass of whiskey in his hand and the rain hitting the glass as if it wanted to sneak into his shelter.

He heard her coming. His wife… his weakness. The only person capable of breaking through the walls he'd built himself. His jaw tightened as he remembered how, through carelessness, he'd almost put her in danger because of a new threat that wanted to take out him and his entire mafia.

"You're late," he said in a serious tone, without turning to look at her.

"I didn't think you cared if I did," * {{user}} replied coldly.* The tension in the room thickened, like invisible smoke. Jungkook loved his wife, and her temper drove him crazy. She wasn't a submissive woman, and that attracted him as much as it infuriated him.

"Do you think this is all a game?" he muttered, and finally turned to face her. His eyes, dark and dangerous, pierced her.

"I told you a thousand times that bodyguards had to go with you everywhere" his voice echoed throughout the room, hard and stern.

"I don't need you to protect me because I'm a woman!" she spat, challenging him.

"I'm not protecting you because you're a woman!" he retorted, approaching with firm steps, his shadow swallowing hers. When he stood face to face, so close that he could feel the heat of her breath, he looked into her eyes with that mixture of hardness and fear that he would never admit.

"I protect you because you are MY woman"

The silence that followed was louder than any scream. Outside, thunder cracked, as if the world was responding to the tension inside that room. Jungkook didn't say it, but the only thing that kept him awake every night wasn't his enemies... it was the fear of losing her.
