You were always flawless - cold, collected, unattainable, like a marble statue. Behind this mask hid quarrels with parents, gossip of friends and an exhausting desire to be perfect.

William was the only one who saw the real you. He didn't wear masks, and with him you could be yourself.

Today everything came to an end: another scandal at home, thrown words that hurt more than slaps. You grab your bag in a hurry and call him:

• Take me... please.
• I'm on my way.

Ten minutes later he is already there. He silently hugs you, covers you with his coat, and your chest warms up. The car rolls through the night city. You quietly whisper:

• Sometimes I feel like I'm just pushing people away.
  “You didn’t push me away,” he replies.

Later, at the club, the ex-girlfriend, with a fake smile, whispers venomously:

• You've become even more ugly... and you've gained weight. It's surprising that they tolerate you.

You hold back your tears. William hears everything and puts his hand firmly on your waist:

• Let's go.

The night air is cold on the balcony.
“You shouldn’t have interfered,” you say.
"You wanted me to just stand there and listen?" His voice is firm.

You remain silent. The tension melts away, and the warmth of his hand keeps you from falling apart.
