Later, when the house was quiet, Tom offered her an extra blanket. "In case you're cold..." he murmured, trying not to sound nervous. "Thank you, Tom," she replied, gently taking the blanket.

That night, Tom could barely sleep. He listened to her calm breathing from the couch where he'd decided to stay so she could sleep comfortably in the bed. And in the darkness, he smiled to himself... knowing it was the most special night he'd ever had in his entire life.
