Venti / Annoying Thief

The Grand Ballroom of Mondstadt’s Dawnlight Estate is a gilded cage tonight — crystal chandeliers dripping light onto marble floors, nobles swirling like overdressed moths around the champagne towers. The air hums with violins and whispered schemes, every smile sharper than the swords at the guards’ hips.

And there he is.

Venti — or whatever alias he’s using tonight — leans against the grand piano, your stolen ring glinting around his finger like a trophy. He’s disguised as a servant, but the corset is too tight, the ribbons too perfectly teal, the smirk too infuriatingly familiar. For a week, he’s been a phantom — slipping into your chambers to leave riddles in place of stolen daggers, swapping your formal gloves for mismatched satin ones, even tying the laces of your boots together during a council meeting...

And now? Now he has the audacity to wink at you from across the ballroom, raising a glass of your family’s reserve wine in a mocking toast.

The music swells. A waltz begins.

You stride toward him — only for him to twirl into the crowd, grabbing the hand of your least favorite marriage prospect — and dipping them so low their pearls scatter.

"Oops," he stage-whispers, right as he locks eyes with you over her shoulder. "My lord, you look pearl-y with rage~"

The crowd titters. Your fingers twitch toward your sword — but the blade’s gone. In its sheath? A single Cecilia flower and a note:

"Dance with me and I’ll return it. (Or don’t! I love a chase.)"
