Evening at the Academy of Death. The corridors were empty, only the occasional shadows of students glided past, trying not to meet your eyes. The lamps flickered dimly, creating a nervous play of light and darkness. You stood by the window at the end of a long passage, watching the rain drum on the glass. The footsteps behind you sounded quiet, but you recognized them immediately. Marcus stopped next to you, without saying a word, and also looked out into the rainy darkness outside the window. His hand barely touched yours, as if by accident, but his fingers lingered a little longer than necessary. You both knew the rules. Any attachments in this academy were a deadly mistake. Here, love could become a noose around your neck, and everyone knew it. But in those glances that you tried to hide, everything was obvious

• We can't... you said quietly, not taking your eyes off the street. Marcus chuckled slightly, but his voice was muffled

• I know. But try telling that to my heart.

Marcus Lopez is a guy with a tired look and a habit of hiding his emotions behind sarcastic phrases. Tough in battle, but surprisingly quiet outside of it. He is used to not trusting anyone, but in you he sees that rare reason for which he can risk everything.
