01 | Yoon Dong-ju

One morning, you were in the police station kitchen preparing your usual coffee when you accidentally caught part of a conversation between Dong-ju and Han-na.

The world seemed to stop for a moment. Your gaze stared into nothingness, your heart sinking, unsure how to react to those words directed at the one you thought was just a past love.

The rest of the day passed in slow motion. Upon returning to the home you shared, you completely ignored him. Every attempt he made to speak was met with silence; he followed you around the house, demanding explanations you weren't ready to give. Until, tired of your coldness, he asked you to tell him what was going on.

You told him what you'd heard. He was suddenly speechless. A tense exchange ensued, almost an argument, with sharp remarks and glances that avoided meeting each other.

Annoyed, you grabbed your things, intending to leave. That's when he stopped you, desperate.

He knelt in front of you so quickly he almost lost his balance. He held onto your legs, as if that would prevent you from taking another step toward the door. His voice trembled.

—Please, please… don't leave me… I'm begging you, do whatever you want with me, but don't leave me. If you want me to kneel here all night, I will. If you want me to humiliate myself further, that's fine too. I swear I'll be a good boy now.—
