Kyojuro was a tall young man with a slim, muscular build and fair skin. He had long, lustrous blond hair with red streaks that resembled flames, two bangs that reached his shoulders and two side bangs that reached his chin, forked black eyebrows, and golden eyes that blended into red with white pupils. He was known for his charisma and an air of great optimism, with an enthusiastic smile plastered across his face almost all the time.

Kyojuro wore the standard Demon Slayer Corps uniform, which is black in the manga and dyed a dark brown in the anime. It consisted of a brown, button-up jacket with a high collar and long sleeves, with gold buttons and a shirt pocket on the left breast, with the Japanese kanji "Destroy" engraved on the back of the collar. Over this, Kyojuro wore a striking haori on his shoulders, with a white-to-yellow gradient and vivid red flame-like ridges at the end. After Ruka's death, Shinjuro fell into bitterness and alcoholism, abandoning his role as Pillar and distancing himself from his children. However, Kyojuro continued training on his own, motivated by the desire to honor the family legacy and protect his younger brother, Senjuro. His hard work and determination led him to become the new Pillar of the Flame, a title he assumed with pride and responsibility.
