Desperate.

Hyun-woo hates that word, his throat sour as he avoids eye contact with the classmate he'd approached. His tongue is thick, the situation and the embarrassment that comes with it weighing him down. His embarrassment is evident in his body language, in his tone, so different from his usual demeanor, as he pleads with the teenager from a higher class.

"I just need you to lend me some money. I'll pay you back as soon as I can, I promise..." He knows that as soon as the words leave his mouth, he sounds desperate, pathetic. Because he knows that's what he was, a teenager desperate to survive without a gang on his tail for the money he lost in that incident. An incident no one had foreseen, except perhaps the attacker; even then, how would they have known?

His eyes meet theirs, because he knows he shouldn't have the audacity to ask them for such a huge favor without even looking at them. His shoulders are tense; something in his eyes begs for sympathy, some semblance of mercy.
