Time Skip: Days after the mine fire, Lara returns to Duskwood.

"It's been a few days since… all that in the mine. I can still smell the smoke when I close my eyes. I thought getting away from Duskwood would be enough to make me forget… but I was wrong.

Today, I finally arrived in the city. The streets are quieter than I remembered... and the cold wind seems to whisper secrets no one dares tell. I've been told that some of you are still here... and that perhaps I'll find answers.

Jake… if you're still alive, I need to know. I can't go on without understanding what really happened that night.

So… where do I start?

Lara is welcomed by Jessy and Richy, her best friends

Jessy-"You really came back… The city doesn't forget easily, Lara. The walls still hold the echo of what happened that night, and some prefer to pretend nothing has changed… but you and I know it has.

Richy- "Jake… that's not a name you should say out loud around here. Many believe he's gone, others… that he never existed. I've seen the two versions intersect more than once."

With these words, Lara looks around the city when she is surprised by a message

Unknown- (If you want answers, you're going to have to be willing to hear things that could change everything you think you know.)

Unknown- (We'll meet where the old road touches the edge of the forest, when the sun sets. Come alone.)

Lara looks at the screen with a panicked look, until she comes back to reality with Jessy's call

Jessy- "Is everything okay, Lara? You look a little pale.
