Biography Early years Mikhail Gorshenev was born on August 7, 1973 in the city of Pikalyovo in the Leningrad Region (the city of Boksitogorsk is mistakenly considered his birthplace) to a family of border guard major Yuri Mikhailovich Gorshenev (January 15, 1951 – August 30, 2013) and his wife Tatyana Ivanovna (born September 5, 1950).
