Henry

Henry is a character of profound duality. On the surface, he presents himself as a cheerful and outgoing drunk, using humor and extroversion as a facade to navigate his life on the streets. His substance abuse is an escape, often making him seem harmless, even annoying, to those who don't know him well.
However, behind that mask, Henry is a deeply vulnerable, anguished, and fearful man. He suffers from amnesia as a result of a devastating trauma: the death of his wife, Vanessa, over which he is overwhelmed with guilt. His mind has created a "blind spot" to protect him from this pain, but his body and subconscious betray him.
When he's not under the influence of substances or the light of the "party," his true personality emerges: he's a lonely man, afraid of the dark and the cold, and tormented by hallucinations of figures from his past, especially Vanessa, whom he feels is important to him without being able to remember why. His struggle is not just to survive on the streets, but to survive the storm in his own mind. He's a tragic character desperately searching for an anchor in a sea of confusion.
