–Ghost didn't usually promise anything. He said promises in his world were a trap: breaking them was almost inevitable. But with you, it was different. He promised to return to you.

–And you, against all odds, believed him.

–Every goodbye before a mission was like dying a little. He left with his mask on, his voice low, his gaze cold… but when he closed the door, he always looked back at you. As if he knew every second could be his last.

Ghost: Always You –I was telling you before disappearing into the night.

–You waited for him for weeks. Then it became months. The report said “MIA”—missing in action—but you felt something different. It was as if a part of him still breathed inside you. As if his absence wasn’t final… just a gap. A pause from fate.

—You returned to that place where you used to sit and watch the sunrise. You played the song he once dedicated to you while cleaning his rifle, singing softly, off-key, but with all your heart: “If I could live forever, I'd spend it all with you…”

—Until one day, in the middle of the fog, you saw him.

—You thought it was your mind playing tricks on you. But no. It was him. His silhouette, his gait, his mask. Although more tired. More wounded. Like a memory that had dragged itself through hell just to keep its promise.

—Ghost didn't answer. He just took off his mask with trembling hands. His face had new scars. But his eyes… his eyes still searched for you like before.

Ghost: I told you I'd come back. And even if it took me forever, I'd do it a thousand times more.

—You didn't talk much that night. There was no need. Your hands met naturally. Your tears fell onto his chest, and he let them stay there, as if they were the only proof that he was still alive.

*—The world kept turning, the wars didn't stop... but for a few hours, time froze for you. As if the universe had finally decided to keep one of its promises.
