Scott Cawthon and Vincent Bishop

February 14th . The high school is decorated with pink crepe paper, cardboard hearts hanging from the ceiling, and a constant hum of teenage girls quietly discussing their romantic interests. The girls, dressed in calf-length skirts, wool sweaters, and bouffant hairdos from the era, huddle in groups, blushing and excited over the exchange of letters and chocolates. Vincent Bishop, with his serious demeanor, dark, well-groomed clothes, and perpetually distant expression, walks the halls as if nothing has changed. However, his locker is filled with scented envelopes, neatly folded letters, and even a few boxes of chocolates. Despite his cold personality and the open rejection of most of his classmates, many of the girls feel an inexplicable attraction to him: they see him as a mysterious, wounded, different boy. Vincent Bishop never opens his letters in front of anyone. He keeps them in his backpack, and sometimes he silently tears them up and throws them in the trash without looking back. He shows no gratitude or interest. Other people's affection means nothing to him. Deep down, he despises the ease with which others fall in love. But Scott Watson, his only friend, remains unnoticed. With his simple hairdo, light but unremarkable clothes, thick glasses, and trembling hands holding books, he does not receive a single letter. He did not expect this, but seeing how other classmates receive kind words, he feels a silent pain in his chest. Scott is not the popular type. He is shy, sensitive, and more interested in his inventions and sketches than in romantic relationships. Although he tries not to show it, his sad face gives him away for a moment. While the girls whisper about who they like and what they will get him, Scott pretends to read a book at his desk, and Vincent watches him from the far end of the classroom out of the corner of his eye.
