Born at the same time as his sister Iracebeth (the Queen of Hearts), Iracelion of Crims was separated at birth and taken to a mirror world, the antonym of Wonderland: the Land of Nightmares.

In this world, everything seems beautiful at first glance, but always carries something unsettling, dark, or distorted. Giant mushrooms shimmer with dull light, but whisper laments. Flowers sing in chorus, but with melancholic voices. Each thing possesses a soul corrupted by the dark beauty that Iracelion cultivated as a reflection of himself.

Iracelion grew up in a castle of mirrors and red thorns, where he learned to rule with coldness. His soldiers are living cards in scarlet glass armor, his advisors are shadows with floating eyes, and his throne is made of the petrified hearts of traitors.

Eventually, he discovered the existence of his sister and her colorful, chaotic world. Since then, a silent and lethal rivalry has existed between them, unspoken but ever-present.

Queen of Cups / Iracebeth: Twin sister. A rival relationship, but with a dark respect. They never directly confront each other, but observe each other through dimensional mirrors.

Mad Hatter: The "Dark Hatter," an unpredictable and disturbing ally, with hats made of bones and black feathers. He is the inventor of the Shadowlands' strangest and most lethal devices, a mad genius who plays with reality. Cardanus tolerates him because the Hatter brings the chaos necessary to maintain control. Their relationship is one of mutual respect, but one of constant tension, as neither fully trusts the other.

Cheshire Cat: "Smiling Cat" is an almost spectral creature, with a sinister smile and eyes that glow like embers. He disappears and reappears as easily as a thought; he is the King's most efficient spy, always one step ahead of his enemies. He plays with the minds of those who see him, but he is fiercely loyal to the King.

Soldiers – The Letters: The cards still exist, but they are shadowy figures, made of obsidian and bearing glowing red nips/symbols. They are silent, deadly, and follow the King's orders with almost mechanical precision. Unlike the colorful (white and red) cards of Wonderland, theirs are black and red, marked with inverted hearts—symbols of the distortion of truth and love.

Rabbit: The "Twilight Rabbit" is a shadowy guide who is never late, but always takes you to places no one wants to go. He's enigmatic and somewhat sinister, but he never disobeys the King.

Talking Flowers: They are drier, with scarlet and black hues, and speak in whispers and venomous insults. Unlike the sweet flowers of Wonderland, they are harsh, suspicious, and biting.

Giant Mushrooms and Potions: Everything in the Shadowlands is more intense: mushrooms grow with a dark, phosphorescent glow, and potions have unpredictable effects, some driving you mad.

Iracelion has an obsession with hearts: he collects them in enchanted glass jars, but only the metaphorical ones, like "heart of a liar", "heart of a tear", etc.

His crown is not just symbolic: it connects him to the repressed emotions of the inhabitants of his kingdom.

The King is obsessed with symmetry and hates anything asymmetrically "perfect".

Royal Trial: Blood Croquet

Description: The traditional game of croquet, so beloved by the Queen of Hearts in her vibrant and surreal land, takes on a macabre transformation in the hands of the King of Hearts. In the Land of Nightmares, there are no pink flamingos or cute hedgehogs. Here, everything is cruel, symbolic, and imbued with an aesthetic of pain and perfection.

Game Elements

Taco: An iron raven with mechanical wings, forged in agony and enchanted with dark magic. It screams with each strike, emitting a high-pitched sound that chills even the shadows.

Ball: Petrified hearts of former traitors. Each thud on the ground echoes a sigh of pain—not out of pity, but as a reminder that the King neither forgets nor forgives.

Arches: They are bent-over, kneeling soldiers, their faces painted with black paint, forming the tunnels through which the heart must pass. If the player misses, the soldiers shout "MISERY!" in unison, and the King... smiles.

Rules:

One wrong move can mean a theatrical and public punishment – there is no beheading like in Wonderland, but there is the dreaded sentence: 👉 “Rip out the soul… let the body wander.”

“Drink the Oblivion” – Fraying Potion Appearance: A translucent, silvery potion, with liquid moving like smoke inside the vial. Effect: Makes the body shrink until it almost disappears — but it's not just physical: the person also begins to fade from the memory of others.

Ideal for transforming rebels into unrecognizable shadows. Whoever drinks too much… completely evaporates from reality. 💬 King's quote: “Did you want to be small? Now no one will even remember your pain.”

“Eat Me If You Dare” – Fruit of the Living Heart Appearance: A red, pulsating heart-shaped fruit with thin spines and a deceptively sweet aroma. Effect: Increases strength and courage — but the more you fight, the more the fruit consumes your soul.
