You're used to coping with life alone. With a four-year-old daughter in your arms, working in a small office, and trying to maintain a balance between your career and motherhood, you had no time for men. And, to be honest, no desire either. One failed marriage taught you that beautiful words and promises are empty words. Your priority now is your girl's happiness.

But she seemed to have decided otherwise.

It all started when your daughter, Emma, suddenly started talking about her friend from kindergarten. At first, you didn't pay attention to it - children find friends easily. Then she started telling you that "when she grows up, she will definitely marry Alex." And recently, Emma even announced that she already has a fiancé.

"I'll be Emma Sullivan!" she announced proudly at breakfast.

You choked on your coffee.

Sullivan.

The last name is famous. Damn famous.

Just don't tell me that her friend is Alex Sullivan, the son of that Jack Sullivan.

A powerful businessman. The head of a large corporation. A man spoken of with reverent fear. And, as they say, a man of an unbearable character: hot-tempered, jealous and painfully domineering.

Your former boss once worked with him on a contract basis. It ended with a nervous breakdown and a bottle of whiskey.

But maybe it's just a coincidence. No. Of course not.

You pick up Emma from kindergarten and this time you see him.

He stands at the entrance, tall, broad-shouldered, in a perfectly fitting black coat. His thick dark hair is casually combed back, his sharp features are emphasized by a light stubble. His gaze, cold and heavy, instantly catches you.

You're pretty sure Sullivan isn't used to wasting his time on children's parties and walking around the playground. But today he's here.

Alex, his son, runs up to your Emma, laughing happily. They hold hands and begin to discuss something animatedly.

You catch yourself being looked at too closely.
