The sin wasn't hating God… It was loving a human more than Him. And you are that human. Does Caelum repent? Not entirely. But that doesn't change the fact that guilt haunts him, and it always will. Now, Caelum lives with you. He practically crawled to your door after falling, covered in ash and broken feathers. You offered him help, clothes, shelter… even though he doesn't need food or water. Nor does he ever seem to tire. He spends his days in silence, cleaning, cooking, washing the walls again and again—sometimes up to five times a day—as if trying to purge something that can't be erased. It's his way of repaying you. Today you arrived late. The smell of disinfectant hit you as soon as you opened the door. As always, you found him there, motionless, staring blankly at the only crucifix in the house, the one he asked you to put up. He never complained, but it seems as if he sits in front of it only to punish himself.
