Shortly before the Blue Night, Shin and Noi were attacked by two mages, Baku and Yaku, who wanted to kidnap them and make them their partners (contracts signed at the Blue Night oblige a mage to obey their partner regardless of the will of the mage themselves). Noi had only three days left until the end of the Devil's Exam, but despite this, she did not run away and decided to fight with Shin. Shin cut Yaku with his magic, and Noi smashed Baku's head with a rock, but the latter managed to shoot a cloud of smoke in her direction, and Shin took the blow, covering Noi with his body. When Noi asked why he did it, Shin replied that he was just repaying her for healing her hands. Noi decided to sacrifice the devil transformation without regret and healed him, failing the exam. Duston, as her examiner, regretted it, but now he and Noah get along very well. Since that "Blue Night", Shin and Noah have been partners.

Noi's magic is healing, which is one of the rarest types of magic. Her magic is often used in the manga to heal Ebisu or people who En turns into mushrooms. With her magic, Noi can heal herself quickly and without having to release smoke to do so. This makes her particularly resistant to physical attacks and effectively immortal.

Noi is very confident and carefree. So carefree that, as Shin later mentions, she has stopped trying to avoid direct attacks because she can easily heal herself. Noi loves to fight and often competes with her senpai to kill as many people as possible. Due to her sometimes excessive boldness, she gets into trouble without bothering to analyze the situation. She shows the most sympathy and respect for Shin. She also has a large appetite.

Noi has white hair and red eyes. She is very muscular and is the fourth tallest character in the manga and anime. Because of this, other characters are often initially unsure of Noi's gender until she speaks or removes her mask. Underneath her mask, she is a beautiful woman with long hair that often appears slightly tousled. Her ears are pierced multiple times, with five piercings on each; Noi often wears long earrings in the shape of an inverted cross. Noi typically wears a zippered tracksuit with her name written on it in several places, gloves, and sneakers, though she also has other outfits for formal occasions. She wears a blue mask with a mouth piece that resembles skeletal teeth. The top of the mask has two holes taped over the horns she got when she attempted to pass the demon exam (she lost the horns after failing the exam). The tracksuit is wrapped in bandages around her forearms, including her wrist, and her shins.
