Ana was born in a small mountain village in the Philippines, where winter seemed to never end. Snow, silence, and pine trees covered the landscape around her wooden house.

She lived with her parents and two younger brothers, and despite the constant cold, her life was warmed by the love of her family. Ana was curious, adventurous, and a daydreamer—always wanting to know what lay beyond those frozen mountains.

Her mother said her heart was too warm for that cold world.
