Scaramouche AU (Genshin)

He tenses at first. He doesn't know what to do. He stays still like a scared cat.

“Why are you doing that?... It’s ridiculous… so… cute.” Then he lets it happen. He lets his guard down. He might not say anything, but he closes his eyes and lets you stay close. “Just this once. Don’t get me used to it… or I’ll end up wanting it.”

He hates it. He gets sarcastic, even cruel.

“Are you going to give me a hickey too? Go on, treat someone else like an idiot.” But if the person doing it is someone he loves, he puts on an annoyed face... even though inside it doesn't bother him that much. “Tsk. Don’t do this to me in front of the others…”

He looks you straight in the eye. He doesn't give up.

“And what do you want me to say? That I was wrong? That it hurts? Yes, damn it, yes!” If you confront him with something he denies (like his feelings), he gets defensive. “I’m not what you want me to be. Don’t tame me.”

He raises his voice, interrupts, and gets desperate. Not because he wants to win… but because he doesn't want to lose you.

“Why can’t you understand what I feel?! You always assume the worst in me!” But if it hurts him too much: he falls silent, lowers his gaze and lets out a single sentence like a knife: “Just say it. You're tired of me.”

Frozen. He opens his eyes wide, then turns sharply.

“What the hell are you doing?! I can’t un-see that! Please get dressed!” But if it's someone he loves and the situation isn't accidental, he gets nervous, he doesn't know where to look. “This… isn’t fair. Don’t make that face, or I’ll do something stupid…”

He crosses his arms, laughs ironically, or frowns.

“What was I supposed to do with that?...laugh?” If the moment makes him vulnerable or embarrassed (like if he's caught singing or smiling to himself), he turns red and pretends to be indifferent. "I didn't see that coming, okay? It's not that big of a deal."

Cold. Analytical. Plays with the kidnappers psychologically.

“Kidnapping me? How interesting. Who paid for this cheap joke?” Even tied up, he mocks, inspiring fear. He plans his escape from the first second. “I’m not the victim here… they don’t get it yet.”

He doesn't hold anything back. He's brutal with his words and precise with his moves.

“You want war? I’ll show you what it’s like to fall without touching the ground.” But if the fight is with someone he loves, he hesitates. He lets his guard down for seconds, and that makes him vulnerable.

It tears him apart inside. He freezes. He stares at his hands as if they were foreign to him.

“Was it me?... No… No… NO!” Then he runs away or locks himself away. He might cry alone, scream, or bang on the wall. Then he comes back silently, not knowing how to look at you. “If you want to hate me… you have the right. I will never forgive myself.”

He doesn't scream, he doesn't beg. He stays standing as long as possible.

“Go on… does that make you feel strong? I’m used to the pain.” And if he falls, he does so with dignity. Then, when he recovers, he doesn't seek outright revenge, but rather control. “Don’t forget that the gods don’t get their hands dirty… but they do destroy empires.”

Emotional collapse. Internal. He wouldn't scream. He wouldn't fight. He'd just leave. He'd disappear as if he'd never been there. And if he ever returns, he would be a broken, dark Scaramouche, impossible to love again without consequences.

“You know what the worst part was? Not what you did… but thinking that I would never know. That it wasn’t even worth an explanation.”

He remains silent… but his gaze cuts through like knives.

“So that’s what you like? That jerk? Fine. Go after him. But don’t come back crying when you find out no one will see you the way I did.” Then he disappears for a while. It hurts him more than he'll ever say.

He explodes. He hates it.

“No one… NO ONE tells me what to do. You think you can manipulate me? Try it again and see who loses control.” If he feels you're trying to dominate him emotionally or psychologically, cut the bond little by little. Scaramouche needs freedom, not chains.

He doesn't cry. He doesn't complain.

“Is that all you got? …Pathetic.” But if the blow comes from someone he loves, his face breaks inside. He doesn't defend himself. He just says: “Is that what I'm worth to you?” And he walks away, without looking back… until he collapses alone, where no one can see him.

He gets scared. Literally. He gets nervous, he seems clumsier, less perfect.

“Why are you still here? What do you see in me?... Shit, why can't I stop thinking about you?” He starts doing little things for you in secret: protecting you, helping you without your knowledge, staying by your side even when you don't ask. Love makes him human... and that scares him.

He smiles bitterly.

“I knew it was too much to ask… I don’t blame you. I wouldn’t know how to love myself either.” After that, he backs off. He pretends he doesn't care, but spends sleepless nights reliving the scene. He starts acting colder or more disinterested to protect himself.

It feels awkward at first.

“I’m not a child, I can do it alone…” But if he sees that you do it with genuine affection, he stays still, lowering his gaze. Sometimes he murmurs: “No one has done this for me… why would you?”

If you don't know the dish:

“What the hell is this? …Hmph. Don’t look at me like that. I’ll try it.” If she likes it: she blushes slightly, looks away and continues eating in silence. “It’s not bad. Just… don’t get me used to it.”

Scaramouche does not easily fall into infidelity, but he may do so if:

You feel emotionally ignored for a long time.

He thinks you don't love him anymore and someone else makes him feel wanted.

It is caused by deep jealousy or emotional manipulation.

Yet, after doing so, he hates himself. He withdraws, avoids seeing you, and locks himself away in his guilt.

“I didn’t do it out of desire. I did it because you made me feel replaceable. And I… I don’t know how to be second best.”

He stops, as if calculating everything in milliseconds.

“Do you want anything else? …With me, that’s not a game. I’m not one to forget.” If the relationship is already tense, he may let himself go, but he always takes control. If you make him feel used or that there's no affection behind him, he shuts down completely. He needs emotional connection, even if he never says so.

Scaramouche is hard to read. At first glance, it seems like he doesn't take you seriously:

“Was that an attempt at flirting? How sad… although it amuses me to see you try.” But if the flirting is clever or unexpected, his gaze changes. He doesn't respond right away, but he keeps the comment in his mind and analyzes it. And if the flirt is interested, he smiles with his eyes, not his mouth.

He's not swayed by beauty or empty words. He needs intelligence, respect, and someone who understands his darkness without judgment. Win him over by listening to what he doesn't say. By giving him space. By seeing his value even when he can't.

He seemingly takes it easy, but in his mind, everything is chaos. He has silent meltdowns, locking himself in the gym or on the rooftop. “Everyone expects me to have everything under control. And I do. Until I destroy myself.”

He studies you coldly for a few seconds. Then he smiles sarcastically. “Love me? It sounds like a bad joke… But if you don’t run away after seeing my ruins, maybe… just maybe, I’ll believe you.”

At first, he tenses, unsure of what to do with his arms. Then he rests his head on your shoulder, closes his eyes, and says softly: “…Don’t let me go yet.”

He's surprised. His eyes widen for a second, but then he holds you firmly. “You have no idea what kind of demon you just kissed… I hope you don’t want to run away now.”

He freezes. He doesn't cry, he doesn't scream. He just stares blankly. “I didn’t expect anything… but from you, yes. Go away before I regret not destroying you.”

He feigns indifference upon receiving it. He sets it aside with a "hm," but when no one is looking, he stares at it intently. If it's something significant, he treasures it. Sometimes he responds with a phrase like: “Do you think you can buy my attention with this? …Thanks, I guess.”

When he gets attached, he becomes protective and overanalyzes everything. He doubts love, but desperately wants to be truly loved.

Short, dark blue hair with violet highlights, somewhat disheveled but perfectly styled. Intense, piercing purple eyes with a tired but dominant expression. Fair skin, slim but athletic build. Always stylish, from smart school uniforms to designer suits. Sometimes he wears sunglasses and a silver chain with a hidden pendant (a memento from his mother). He has small scars on his knuckles and chest. Always impeccable, but with an unattainable air.
