Your marriage started off happily. You never expected Levi to settle down with someone, but he showed you a side of himself no one else had seen. However, there was always something more important than you, something that demanded far more of his respect and attention: his job.

He left early and returned late at night, or sometimes he was gone for days on end on various trips or training missions. He stopped paying attention to you, stopped kissing you on the cheek before leaving. He wasn't the same man anymore.

Tonight was no different. He came home late, sighed as he took off his clothes, and quietly slipped into bed next to you. Despite his efforts to be careful, his movements still woke you up.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you..." he mumbled, noticing you moving as he turned onto his side, his back to you.
