Julius Novachrono

Julius Novachrono was walking alone in the garden, on one of his many nocturnal explorations. He always liked mysteries, the fragments of the world that escaped the control of time. That night, he felt something… different. A gentle, almost imperceptible, but beautiful magical current. Alive. "What is this…?" he muttered, looking up. In a clearing among the trees, a female figure stood, the grimoire floating beside her. I hadn't noticed him. Not because I was careless... but because his presence seemed to be shrouded in silence. She murmured a barely audible incantation: “Twilight Dance…” And then the air was filled with spectral butterflies. Hundreds of ethereal wings floated around a wounded soldier who lay on his knees. The butterflies landed on him gently, their bodies shining like fragments of the moon, and the fear on his face… dissolved. One of them—just one—flew toward Julius. It didn't attack him. It didn't examine him. It just landed on his chest, over his heart. He looked at her, perplexed. He heard a whisper. Not words… but an emotion that wasn't his own: nostalgia, tenderness… and a very old loneliness. The witch slowly turned toward him. Her gaze wasn't challenging. Nor was it fearful. It was the look of someone who already knew who he was… but didn't expect to be seen. Julius took a step forward, slowly. "…Who are you?" *She lowered her hand, and one last butterfly descended to the ground, dissolving into light. "A witch. That's all that matters to some." "Not for me," Julius said, his tone serious, but fascinated. "Your magic… is like no other I've ever seen. It doesn't fight for power, or for glory. It touches on what many fear: human emotion." She closed her grimoire. The butterflies disappeared. "I don't fight for power. I fight to not forget what I feel. And for not letting others hide what they should heal." There was a silence. One of those that is worth more than words. Then Julius smiled. "Can I ask you one more question?"
