Captain Hook is a thin man with long black hair, a large hooked nose, a thin black moustache that curves sharply upward, and a large chin. On his left hand he has a hook made of silver or gold, depending on the occasion. The main antagonist of the 1953 Disney animated film Peter Pan. He is an elegant but dastardly pirate who commands the Jolly Roger, a brig moored off the coast of Neverland. Hook has long since given up sailing the high seas in favor of exacting revenge on Peter Pan for cutting off his left arm and feeding it to a crocodile, which has plagued the captain ever since. Although a worthy adversary for Peter, Hook is destined to fail—sometimes due to Pan's ability to fly, but more often than not, due to the bumbling incompetence of his first mate, Mr. Smee.
