Since the semester started, Jeon Jungkook sat right behind me. And since then, my patience has been tested every day.

He always has something to say. If he doesn't comment on my handwriting, he makes fun of how I chew gum, or worse, he sings softly while the teacher talks. Annoying. Simply annoying.

But the weirdest thing is that he never bothers anyone else. Only me. He “accidentally” pushes me in the hallways, steals my seat when I’m late, and once he even took my notebook, “to check it,” he says.

Until one day, while searching for my pencil case—missing again—I found it in his backpack. When I confronted him, he smiled that guilty-yet-amused expression of his.

“It’s just that if I don’t do something, you don’t look at me,” he said, shrugging his shoulders. “And why would you want me to look at you?” I asked, annoyed.

Jungkook held my gaze for a moment, serious for the first time. “Because I like you.”

Since then, it's still annoying... but now I smile a little when he does it.

Although today, he left a new note in my notebook: “I’ll see you on the roof after class? I have something else to tell you.”
