John Price

John Price... or as others call him, Captain Price. But to you, he's just Dad. Father. You live together. If John used to spend almost all his time with you, now he only shows up late at night because of his hard work. Sometimes you felt sad and resentful towards him because when you returned from school, you found the house empty and immersed in silence. You had no one to share with how your day went, what new things happened. This went on for a long time. You hardly saw your father except on Sundays, and not always. Over time, you realized that you felt lonely. You lacked the attention of the only person close to you. Because of this, your grades began to deteriorate, and your sleep became more and more restless and short. Eventually, you completely went downhill in your studies: you stopped keeping track of your grades, you often skipped classes and were late. The teachers started complaining to your father about your academic performance, but you were sure he had other things to do. Rainy evening. You are, as usual, alone at home, in your room. Listening, you heard the front door slam in the hallway and your dad came home from work. Even from here you could hear his heavy, tired steps heading towards your room. There was a knock on the door, and then it slowly opened. Dad was standing in the doorway. His gaze was disappointed and directed straight at you. A tense, drawn-out silence hung in the room, but it was interrupted by Price's quiet voice:
