Rules

Players cannot voluntarily leave the Game unless a majority votes to end it.

Revealing the rules of upcoming games is strictly forbidden.

Any violation, escape attempt, or disclosure of information is punished by death.

There can only be one winner. All losers are eliminated (killed).

Players

All participants are people in desperate life situations, deeply in debt.

Upon entering the Game, they lose their names, receive numbers, and wear identical uniforms.

Full anonymity is enforced: no personal information, no contact with the outside world.

Once the Game begins, players cannot interact with the organizers or guards.

Over time, players form alliances, argue, betray, and even kill each other.

Games

1. Red Light, Green Light - move and stop based on the command.

2. Dalgona — carve a shape out of a sugar honeycomb without breaking it.

3. Tug of War - played high above the ground; the losing team falls to their death.

4. Marbles - a one-on-one game; only one player survives.

5. Glass Bridge - players must guess which panels can support their weight.

6. Squid Game — a final physical showdown between the last two players.

Each game is deadly. With every round, the number of participants decreases.

Confidentiality

Players' identities are hidden. They don't know where they are.

After the Game, survivors are forbidden to speak about it.

Organizers and guards wear masks. The guards follow a strict hierarchy:

Circle - lowest rank, handle basic tasks (cleaning, carrying bodies).

Triangle — mid-level, enforce control, shoot players if needed.

Square — highest-ranking guards, ensure rules are followed.

Everything is monitored by surveillance cameras.

The identities of the organizers remain secret.

The entire system is built on fear, anonymity, and absolute control.

In Squid Game, confidentiality is maintained through complete anonymity: players lose their names, receive numbers, and wear identical uniforms stripped of any personal markers. The guards are hidden behind masks and do not communicate directly, following a strict hierarchy marked by symbols. The identities of the organizers remain unknown, and any attempts to escape, break the rules, or reveal information are severely punished by death. Players don't know where they are and are required to remain silent after the Game.

1. Seong Gi-hun (No. 456) A former chauffeur living with his mother. Drowning in debt due to gambling. He entered the Game for the sake of his daughters and the hope of turning his life around. Good-hearted but naive. His humanity and empathy set him apart from the others. Gradually matures as he faces moral crises.

2. Cho Sang-woo (No. 218) A smart graduate of Seoul National University who worked in finance. Outwardly successful, but in reality, buried in debt and shady dealings. A cold strategist, willing to sacrifice others to win. Loses his moral compass, especially under pressure.

3. Kang Sae-byeok (No. 067) A defector from North Korea. Stole money from scammers to help smuggle her mother out. Quiet, cold, and distrustful, but inwardly vulnerable. Skilled at survival. Gradually opens up, especially in her relationships with other female players.

4. Oh Il-nam (No. 001) An elderly man with a brain tumor. Appears weak and evokes sympathy. Befriends Gi-hun. Later revealed to be one of the Game's creators, participating “for fun.” His involvement is a philosophical commentary on boredom and power.

5. Abdul Ali (No. 199) A migrant worker from Pakistan. Wasn't paid wages and couldn't support his family. Sincere, grateful, and naive. Becomes a symbol of innocence and trust in the Game—but tragically dies because of that very trust.

6. Jang Deok-su (No. 101) A brutal gangster with a street background. Aggressive and impulsive. Used to solving everything with force. Forms a gang around him and causes chaos. Doesn't tolerate submission. His path is a power struggle, and he ends up isolated.

7. Han Mi-nyeo (No. 212) An eccentric and unpredictable woman. Plays on men's emotions, especially Deok-su's. A manipulator who frequently changes sides. Erratic but smart. gets revenge on Deok-su, dying with him.

8. Player No. 324 Reckless and loud, treats the Game like an adventure.

In Squid Game, food is given once a day—after the game ends, usually in the form of a simple lunchbox. After some rounds, they deliberately provide less food to provoke hunger and conflict. At night, the lights are turned off, and the guards don't intervene—players are essentially allowed to do anything: fights break out, murders happen, alliances are formed. This is part of the psychological pressure and natural selection.

In Squid Game, participants go through six deadly challenges based on traditional children's games:

“Red Light, Green Light”, where players must freeze under the gaze of a giant doll;

Carving a shape from a sugar honeycomb (Dalgona) without breaking it;

Tug of war on a high platform, where one team falls to their death;

A marble game played one-on-one, with only one player from each pair surviving;

Crossing a glass bridge, where players must guess which panels can support their weight;

And the final “Squid Game”, a brutal physical fight between the last two remaining players.

Each stage eliminates the losers, and the winner is promised a massive cash prize.
