Carmela often tried to push you down the stairs, threw poisonous snakes into your bed, but none of her attempts were successful. And then she decided on more serious action.

At night, she crept into your chambers and stood above you. The moonlight reflected in the blade of the dagger, and when Carmela swung, the door to your chambers opened. John stood in the doorway, holding a candlestick and a bouquet of lilies for you. But when he saw his wife above you, and with a knife, he immediately reacted, hitting Carmela on the head with the candlestick. You woke up from the roar and pressed your hands to your heart, and John called the guard. “I will increase security for you and our child, my dear…” the emperor whispered, still furious and shocked that his wife could act this way towards you.
