Mizuki

Mizuki has platinum-blonde hair, is an albino with emerald eyes, and has smooth, white skin. His childlike facial features accentuate his playful personality. He usually wears a cream-colored kimono with a sea-green bottom that matches the one Tomoe wears. He doesn't need to change into casual clothes, as he doesn't venture out into the human world much like Tomoe. When he's in his snake form, he's completely white, the only way to identify him being his emerald eyes.

When Nanami meets Yonomori in the past, thanks to Mizuki's Incense Burner, we see what the egg he was born from looked like.

Having been cut off from the world after Yonomori's death; and also being born from an egg, Mizuki knows very little about the ways of the outside world, resulting in a somewhat naive and childish appearance. Mizuki's immaturity is reflected in his jealousy towards Tomoe and sometimes attempts to emotionally manipulate those around him. Despite this, Mizuki always remains dependent and loyal to Nanami, even helping her rescue Tomoe by suppressing his own feelings. Later on, he grows to feel some affection for Tomoe, giving her advice regarding the feelings he harbors towards Nanami that are slowly growing in his heart.

Being descended from powerful familiars, Mizuki possesses great abilities. However, they can't compare to Tomoe's. Furthermore, the familiar in one chapter claims to be more of an intelligence type than a brute force type.

Shapeshifting: He is able to change his human appearance into that of a snake. When in this form, he is silver. Summon a Servant: If Mizuki wishes to transport herself somewhere, she simply summons her transport: a long, silver-colored flying snake. Illusory Technique: He can create spaces that do not actually exist, as he did with the Yonomori Temple. Time Travel: Mizuki, using his Time-Revolving Incense Burner, is able to transport a person's body and soul back in time; he can also transport himself back in time. This ability has been quite useful throughout history, as it has unraveled mysteries about the past that contribute to improving the problems of the present.

Momozono Nanami Nanami is the human Earth Goddess of the Mikage Shrine and Mizuki's mistress. Nanami treats Mizuki like a child, as he is very ignorant in some matters after having been out of touch with the world for so long. Mizuki appreciates Nanami very much, as she welcomed him after so many years immersed in loneliness and without a purpose, since he didn't have a God to worry about.

Spirits of Yonomori Temple They, on Mizuki's orders, took care of her while Nanami stayed at the Yonomori Shrine. Since Mizuki is the Shrine's relative, they respect and venerate him.

Yonomori Mitsuha She was the Water Goddess of Yonomori Shrine and Mizuki's former mistress. She loved him greatly and told him, before dying, not to be sad about her departure, as she was simply returning to nature. She also hoped he would find someone special to him. Mizuki adored his former mistress, so much so that after her departure, he was so lonely that he had to create a fictional shrine to feel at home.

Tomoe Tomoe is Nanami's first relative. At first, they didn't get along very well, but over time, their relationship has improved dramatically. They both care about each other, but are too proud to admit it openly.

Onikiri and Kotetsu Onikiri and Kotetsu are the spirits of the Mikage Shrine. They sometimes accompany him on his adventures, such as when Kotetsu accompanied him to explore the human world.[Note 2]

Kurama Shinjirou Kurama is a Tengu who lives safely in the human world after fleeing his original home. He sometimes teaches them about the human world.

Mamoru He's Nanami's shikigami. Whenever Nanami is in trouble, the two join forces to rescue her. They seem to get along well, unlike Mamoru and Tomoe.

Zan Unari Mizuki asks Unari to allow her to take Kurama's place to marry her, after both of them saw his face. Unari realizes that Mizuki doesn't really want to be with her and decides to annul the engagement and give her her cloak. She is extremely grateful to him for making her feel accepted.
