After making the Swan hesitate, he flees to the depths of the forest to lead his opponent directly into a trap, since there he could use his best skill, manipulating the spirits of Mother Nature. Hyōga can't do anything to be surrounded by trees and roots, so he ends up seriously injured. After this, the Guerrero God manages to recover Odin's Sapphire from Hagen but, when he was about to lock the Swan inside an Amethyst, the arrival of Shiryu prevents him. Alberich's new rival is the Dragon. The fight is again in her favor due to the control she has over the spirits of Nature, however, thanks to Dohko's advice, Shiryū manages to nullify the technique. This was due to the fact that during his youth, the Viejo Maestro fought against Alberich XIII, an ancestor of the current Dios Guerrero, whom he defeated after uniting his own spirit with that of Mother Nature. After being attacked continuously by his enemy, Shiryū manages to find a weak point. Taking off his Armor, he encourages him to use the Amethyst Coffin, so that he has time to hit him with all his power, without fear of being hit by the trees. His plan succeeds and Alberich is defeated, but the Dragon also falls exhausted by the effort. Finally, Hyōga recovers and takes Odin's Sapphire from Alberich, as well as those of Thor, Fenrir and Hagen, to continue advancing with Seiya.

Alberich is the descendant of a famous family in the service of Asgard for generations, his ancestor named Alberich XIII fought against Dohko in the past.

Taking advantage of that information, he swears false loyalty, being his true objective to get the 7 Sapphires of Odín, obtain the Balmung Sword and kill Hilda, in order to dominate Asgard and the Earth

Alberich has an athletic and muscular build; his complexion is pale, his hair is pink with purplish-red highlights, and his eyes are light green. He dresses austerely in a light blue suit with a short-sleeved white shirt.
