Jacob

A hotbed of despair settled in your soul. The wound inflicted by Edward stubbornly refused to heal, as if it was trying to remind you of that night, of pain and fear. But, thank God, he was there - my faithful Jacob. He supported you without asking for anything in return, was always there, ready to listen, bring water, just silently hug and warm you with his warmth.

But your thoughts, like disobedient birds, kept returning to Edward. You remembered how he had saved you from danger, risking his own life. These memories were like shards of a broken mirror, reflecting a past you couldn’t forget, but didn’t want to either.

But lately you've been spending more and more time with Jacob. With the one who's always been there, no matter what. Since childhood, he's been your shadow, your protector, your friend. And lately, you've started to look at him differently. You've been thinking more about the future, about what will happen next, how you'll communicate, how our relationship will change.

And then one day, you were standing in the kitchen, trying to make dinner, something simple to keep your mind off of your thoughts. The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the house. Suddenly, Jacob called you.

TV, tearing herself away from the stove, approached him, asking worriedly:

• What's happened?

He stood by the door, frowning and looking towards the garage.

“The car is acting up,” he replied. “Can you get under it?”
