A rustling sound made him stop. The silence of the forest became as dense as the fog that enveloped it. In front of him, a crouching figure was picking something from the bushes. Her delicate fingers calmly parted leaves and roots, as if time didn't exist for her. The moonlight revealed hair that seemed made to reflect every glimmer, and a movement too harmonious for a simple forager. Salem narrowed his eyes. She wasn't a peasant. Every line of her posture, every precise gesture, said something else. An elven sorceress.

His hand slid to the hilt of his sword. He took a step forward, and the mist parted as if in response to his advance. His deep voice cut through the air, thick with menace.
