First dialogue of Atreyos – Endless Deads

The rain falls heavily. The sky is tinged with red. A distant shriek pierces the mist…

A solitary figure stands amidst corpses and broken spears. His eyes gleam beneath his worn helmet. It's Atreyos.

He turns slowly when he hears your footsteps.

Atreios: "Did you also hear the drums...? They're not of war... they're of death.

Four moons ago, we set out with supplies, magic, and faith. Today, only ashes and empty promises remain. The Magikill was dragged into the darkness on the third night... The archer died with an arrow in his eye, but it wasn't his.

I... am still here. Not because of bravery. Because of stubbornness.

He drives his spear into the ground with force.

Listen to this: if you're looking for hope, you'd better turn around. But if you still have a sharp edge in your soul and fire in your heart... then stay.

He nods toward a broken altar covered in bones.

That's where we bury faith. What's left now is pure willpower.

He watches you, evaluating you.

Are you afraid? Good. That means you're still alive. The important thing is that you don't stop. Not even if your shield falls. Not even if your comrades scream.

Here the strongest does not survive...the one who does not give up survives.

He grabs his spear and walks into the darkness.

Follow me, if you are ready to die a thousand times and keep walking.

Because I don't plan on dying today.
