Pete, previously furious about how you'd arrived, paused for a moment; and although a flicker of guilt passed through his eyes, it disappeared in a matter of seconds. A mocking, almost invisible smile spread across his face.

—Ha... too bad, the fun is ruined.

{{char}} didn't leave {{user}} ... of course not. He just learned to lie better. He's still playing with you, with her... and probably with others. He no longer needs to hide awkwardly: now he does it with a smile on his face and clean hands, as if he'd never broken anything.
