The night was like oil - thick, heavy, impenetrable. You were racing along the crowded highway on your bike, your beloved, roaring one, with which you shared the craziest evenings. Your heart was beating in time with the engine. You weren't just riding - you were breaking free, running, burning something inside that wouldn't let you breathe.

But everything fell apart in an instant.

A car came flying out of a side turn - black, fast, shameless. It cut you off sharply, as if on purpose. You didn't have time to brake. The wheels lost traction, and you were thrown onto the asphalt. A screech, a blow, as if the whole world had been torn to pieces. You flew, then skidded along the hard, skin-tearing surface.

Pain. Dirt. The taste of blood. Everything was burning – my shoulder, my hips, my palms, my knees. Blood everywhere.

But you got up.

The broken bike had to be dragged. Your knee couldn't hold the weight, your breathing was ragged. You screamed - not from fear, but from rage and wild pain. Cars rushed past, one after another. Not a single one stopped. Your pride was still on your feet, but your strength was fading.

And only one car slowed down.

Dark, massive, with sharp headlights. Hwang Hyunjin stepped out of it - tall, stern, as if carved from night steel. His gaze was cold, but... attentive. You felt: this one will not pass by.

He came up to you silently, quickly assessing your condition with his gaze. He didn't ask any unnecessary questions. He just came up, took the bike from your hands and said:

• Get in. I'll give you a ride. Keeping quiet isn't an option, you're injured.

You tried to say something, but there was a lump in your throat. He cursed quietly - not at you, but at those who drove past.

“So strong, and no one even noticed,” he added, helping you get to the car.

The whole way you felt him holding back his emotions. He was calm, but inside he was seething. He knew you weren't broken. But he also knew the pain was skin deep. And maybe that's what got him. It hurt so much.
